A Soft Filter of Light
Blurs the Line Between Body and Space
When light—the essence of everything—is shaped and concentrated through material, it touches us deeply, both skin and soul. Sight and sensation merge into a moment of intimacy where transparency reframes how we see. Both disciplines—interior design and fashion—stimulate our sensory field through the use of clarity and fading light.
Akris—A Quiet Awakening of the Senses
When Albert Kriemler, creative director of Akris, stepped into a frescoed room with illusionistic paintings in Mantua—Andrea Mantegna’s Camera degli Sposi—he was mesmerized by the play of light and shadow. It gave volume and presence to the shapes—intimate, dimensional, almost real—full of light and life.
It´s not beauty you think of, but grace—not surface-deep, but something that comes from within. A gesture, an emotion, an expression. A kind of light—radiant and honest. For Akris, Kriemler translated this into sheer volumes: a clothing collection imagined within a vaulted space filled with luminous light, translucent like layers of paint in a fresco. Transparent designs create soft atmospheres, from sheer suits to shift dresses.
Bocci—Illumination in Layers of Light
Creating abstract lighting around the design principles of Omer Arbel, Bocci is the multidisciplinary design and research lab of the moment. Clusters of delicate glass sculptures transform light into a subtle atmosphere, going beyond the convention of our modern aesthetic. Bocci´s latest launch, the 141 pendant light, distinguished by its single-action process, is an evolution of the company’s experimental approach to design. Its shape is unpredictable, formed in a gesture that is at once simple and cinematic.
Already considered a classic, Series 84 is the ultimate soft filter in lighting. A bubble of white glass is blown through copper mesh, expanding within a clear matrix to form soft, pillowy shapes. This series blends glass and metal, creating a tactile interplay of texture and illumination that reveals delicate, copper-hued forms when lit. Bocci is redefining how light and design interact with space and form—quietly influencing our emotional landscape.
Sportmax—Soft Architecture
Silhouettes with sculptural fluidity intersect with soft lines and asymmetric transparencies, creating a contemporary layering effect. A soft collection, paired with prismatic accessories, evokes an optical energy that embraces the movement of the body. The shoe becomes a form of shaped stillness, infused with air and light.
“Grace is not something on the surface—it comes
from within. It is a gesture, an expression, an emotion.
A kind of light, radiant and honest.”
Acerbis by Sabine Marcelis—Matter, Light, and Color Melt Into One Another
The essence of the Lokum collection of glass tables lies in elevating material into objects of quiet artistry. With her refined mastery of glass, Sabine Marcelis, creates forms that transcend utility—where light drifts and reflections shift across sculpted clarity. Luminous shapes unfold with a sense of motion within stillness, adding depth within transparency. Marcelis envisions a thoughtful relationship between light and material, focusing on themes such as reflection, opacity, and translucency.
Khaite—Soulful Sheer
Catherine Holstein, founder and creative director of Khaite, is perfecting contemporary softness. Renowned for its dark aesthetic, Khaite now reveals a more intimate side, with styles that look to the sun. Its trademark edge is tempered by unexpected softness and flowing warmth. Fluid silhouettes take on a soft dimension in light, while neutral hues and airy fabrics are chosen for their softness on bare skin, defining how today’s style-conscious woman wants to dress: polished, yes—but with edge rather than prettiness. Ethereal yet grounded, these are soft edges layered with soul—an evolving vision with transitions between light and dark.
