Taking a Wider Perspective
Eyewear With Character and Values

Fashion and Beauty

What initially started out as an idea among friends has become a major success in the international fashion business. Andreas Pirkheim (Andy) and Wolfgang Scheucher (Wolf) from Hartberg, Styria, set out in 2006 with the mission of producing high-quality eyewear for real characters. Mission completed.

(Accessories) Glasses are so much more than mere visual aids. Today, people wear them even when they don’t actually need them. The demand for eyewear has evolved, placing a strong focus on individuality. For the two creators behind ANDY WOLF Eyewear, their craft is an expression of personality, quality, and craftsmanship—true to their credo: every person is unique, and eyewear should reflect that.

With a small team and a big vision, the two Styrians set out almost 19 years ago to produce eyewear that seamlessly combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design—all proudly “Made in Austria.”

This was no small feat in a world dominated by mass production, where Austria initially didn’t register on the global design map. Yet, Pirkheim and Scheucher were undeterred. For nearly 19 years, they’ve demonstrated courage and passion, showing how local production can align with global ambitions, how distinctive style can be created, how relevance can be established—and all while staying true to their values. For them, sparing resources and fostering awareness aren’t just buzzwords; they’re integral to their everyday operations.

At ANDY WOLF, everything truly happens “just around the corner.” The clear decision to keep design, prototyping, and distribution in Austria has resulted in an unparalleled level of quality. Every model—whether sunglasses or optical frames—is meticulously tinkered with and fine-tuned to perfection. Only then is it handcrafted and ready to embark on its journey to the world.

Reaching this point takes no fewer than 50 people and over 90 work steps. The acetate used for the frames, made from certified natural materials, is sourced from Italy, where the finest quality is found. Metal frames, crafted with recycled components, come from the Jura region, while bio-acetate for the lenses is matured for weeks before being processed. Everything else is sourced locally in Austria.

This is luxury, redefined—and the world has taken notice. The list of delighted wearers is growing, and ANDY WOLF glasses have even graced the red carpet.
